Jonathan Heim

Career Highlights

Jonathan is associate principal trumpet of the New York City Ballet Orchestra. In that position, he plays second trumpet and principal parts on over a hundred performances a year from the most classic of ballets (Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake & Stravinsky's Firebird) to new commissions that span styles and eras.

 

Other recent engagements include numerous on and offstage roles at the Metropolitan Opera, guest principal with the Allentown Symphony, and various projects with the Knights orchestra.

 

Jonathan has played on over a dozen Broadway musicals including Wicked, Kinky Boots, Carousel, and Phantom of the Opera.

 

Two especially memorable highlights of this early part of his career include touring with the Grammy award winning Maria Schneider Orchestra, performing at such venues as Disney Hall, the Library of Congress, Kennedy Center, and Blue Note Tokyo, 

AND...

Premiering the stylistically eclectic Levantine Symphony No. 1 with the award winning trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

Having excelled in so many disciplines, Jonathan is sought after to perform with the top orchestras, shows, and ensembles in New York City.
